Looking for a goodnight timing chain over for my 45gpw. Need to have a good oil squirt piece attached.

The Oil Jet is screwed into the face of the block and is aimed at the junction of the Camshaft and Timing Gear. only thing on the cover is the factory sweated on fitting for the oil return line and the riveted on peg that controls camshaft end play on the Chain type engine only.
The Gear type engines have a cover that is plain inside. If your oil pressure gage is a repro, I would suspect it as they have a history of antics.
NOTE:
Repro is not to be confused with long established aftermarkets.

Ben,
I checked the oil hole and it looks ok. I will check the mains next weekend and blow air though the system. I will check the spring on the oil pump and see if it seems to work. Not sure how to ensure the pump valve does not stick open.

If you do remove the oil pan, start with the rod bearings first. With the pan off see if you can move the cam shaft fore and aft.
