Generator Parts needed - GOT 'EM!!

Post by Chuck Lutz » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:58 pm

I have enough parts to put together another GEG-5002 Autolite genny but am missing two items:
The Commutator Head has two brushes that ride on the Armature....they are held TIGHT to the armature by two "gates" that are each under tension by a spring.

I have the Commutator Head....I have the two springs....I need the two gates that fit on the two posts that are spring-loaded. You can see the steel "gates" positioned on the STEEL post and BRASS fittings that hold the brushes in this photo:

If any of you guys who have had your genny damaged in shipping and have a busted Commutator Head left over that has those two "gates" still on it that are willing to part with them....let me know.

Cash, swap for Ford/Willys marked bolts? Whatever?

Been there, done that....nothing left but complete gennys and a few odds and ends. I gave the last complete GEG-5101D Comm Head I had to Mike just three weeks ago before I got around to this project!

Chuck,
I have an Autolite commuter head from a group 1, 3 brush unit.It has a GCM-2 stamping....the brushes themselves are smaller than the group 2s,but-if these gates will fit your posts/pins/springs.they oughta work.It is an unused head.If it is a go I dig Willys bolts......Having picture loading issues....

Hi Ralph....I'm not certain of the parts numbers though....I am checking out a GEG-5002 setup this weekend that met with the usual shipping disaster so let me see if that works out....I won't have to ship anything, just meet up with a friend....let's see how that works.
