Wanted 12v distributor for mb/Gpw in the uk if possible so the tax man won't pull my pants down :)

Distributors as used on MB/GPW are not voltage rated, the condensers and points are the same for 6, 12, and 24 Volts. Best one will be an IAD 4008 or an IAD 4008A. It is the later Dust Proof type.

One important item is the wear on the bronze bushing in the base of the housing. If it has advanced wear you will not an accurate adjustment on your points. A quick test is to put the points on high cam and wiggle the shaft, excess side play in excess of 0.005" indicates a new bearing is required.
