Daniel...
The "correct" flange body for the Carter 539S has "407" stamped on the gasket face and does not have a vacuum port drilled into it...the one marked "505" is for a post war CJ-era Carter 636-series carburetor. I have a stripped and bead blasted "505" flange body if you are interested in that one....drop me an email or PM if you want it.
