Temperature gauge

WTB Original temp gauge with a face in good condition for my March 42 MB. It is a motorpool restoration so I am looking for something intended for a jeep made in WW2.

Have some from Greek reserve, but have faces with slight bigger Temp font.

1967.....

Willys MB Autolite Temp should have approx 22" length:

Ford GPW Stewart-Warner Temp should have approx 22" length:

Motorpool could have been salvaged from Dodges or GTBs and have different bezels or faces. The length of the capillary tubes may vary up to 50" in some cases. It is common to find the SW Temp with everything correct except the length of the capillary tube and that the owner has coiled up the excess under the dash and secured it so it does not short out on the circuit breakers or AMMETER contacts.

The SW Ford capillary tube has a flat wound sheath whereas the Autolite utilizes a round-wire sheath.

The "Always/Never" rule on what MIGHT have been used in a motorpool leaves you a lot of leeway but I would avoid some of the ridiculous 1950's and 1960's SW Temp gauges being fobbed off on Ebay as "Ford/GPW/WWII".....

And test them, I have two of the Greek reserve temp gauges, neither of them worked.

I always test them, but some came broken to the depot because of bad repairs, these work
