Brake Lines

Postby thidisbogus » Sat Apr 07, 2012 10:53 am

As you can see in my thread, bubba either made his own or installed the incorrect type. All I need are the two lines that come off the Y at the Master Cylinder and make their way forward and rear to the axles. Every place I have called only has the entire kit, which I don't need.

Go to the brake line store; here we have them at every auto parts store and farm supply store, and buy them. You will find lengths already made which work fine; I did have to make two of the ends to make them fit correctly. But that is easy with a double flaring kit. I never could understand buying brake line kits; they are not cheap. You can make your own set for 20 bucks.

hi, it might be different in the uk but most garages have brake flaring tools, you either need the length of pipe or a pattern and a pipe can be made up for a couple of quid, heck if you wasnt so far away i could make you one

Most garages here have forgotten long ago how to actually make brake lines, but the brake speciality shops can. Maybe if you find an old gas station with an old guy working in it. How much is a quid, anyway?
