WTB exhaust bracket

Post by Carsten » Sun Aug 16, 2009 2:01 am

Hello guys...

I'm looking for this exhaust bracket for the Deep Mud Exhaust system:

FM-GPW-5251-B / WO-A-9082 CLAMP, exhaust pipe extension support strap

Key F in this drawing:

Should look like this:

Interested in NOS or good condition take-off!

If interested, i have a spare NOS WO-A-9086 to trade (key K above)! Same type as this one:

I think that it is the same clamp. Just cut the L portion off.

Roger,
Thanks, it's not the exact same. The 9082 clamp is formed to have the part G in the drawing fit inside the clamp when it's mounted, to carry the clamp and subsequently the hole extension pipe. This is not possible with the one I have, even if I cut it to the correct length...

It is nearly Identical to 800799 BRACKET, Muffler Support Clamp that attaches the short pipe on the M-38A1 Muffler to the rear cross member.
All NOS OEM M-38/M-38A1 Mufflers have this clamp. I may have a good used.
Give me a day or so and I may be able to e-Mail you a pic.

I'm not experienced on M38A1, but from what I can see, bracket 800799 has the same problem, it doesn't have the "bulge" on the side opposite the opening, where the small WOA-657 STRAP goes. There is simply not enough room inside the bracket, to fit both extension pipe and strap, as you can on the correct WO-A-9082 CLAMP.

I may end up with fabricating one myself, or converting another bracket into what I need, but I have found all the other exhaust parts for my deep mud exhaust as originals, either NOS or used, so wanted to give it one more try on this last one!

I checked, the M-38A1 Clamp did not have the flat bulge section. You may want to check out the clamps used at the rear for the CJ-2A Muffler. I checked the CJ-2A/CJ-3A Parts list, A-9082 is not listed for the CJ Jeeps, but 636004 for the MB may be close.

Yes, 636004 is almost identical, except for the flat bulge for the carrying strap. It won't fit properly, I have tried it already.

Check with Army Jeep Parts. I got a complete deep mud exhaust set from them and it included this bracket. Thanks!
