Wheel Hub Lifting Rings

Postby Chuck W. » Sun Aug 05, 2007 6:14 pm

After cleaning up the lifting rings, replacing the O-rings, etc, and getting them free to turn, I wondered how I could keep them from sticking again. Decided to try a grease fitting in one of the plug holes to see if a shot of grease every so often would help.

I bought my 69 mule from the previous owner who was the first civilian owner and he did no work on it other than filters, etc. This mule had zerk fittings on the hubs that had USMC paint on them. I think that this might have been a military modification? I still have them on the mule and it is very handy.
