Those are size -3. Made for flap cables on a Cessna bird dog tail dragger. The others were smaller.

Thanks sir.....believe it or not our department had a L-19 we got surplus from the state. Put a new engine on it and were in the restoration process...dumbass left it on the ramp unsecured...wind took care of the rest...

Dang, that's a real shame. They are a dandy airplane and a real short field performer. There's a fellow here that has one and they let him land it on a short stretch of road in town and they put it on display on the main drag from time to time. One of these days I'm gonna put my Super Cub out there.

I have used the size 3 disconnects on my mule with no issues because the tension on the throttle return spring just isn't enough to cause damage to the cable ball. Considering that the best price I have found on the correct ones is $70, these should do the trick at least until you find the smaller size.

Your original post had the ebay auction for both sizes. I put them both on my watch list before I went to work and by the time I got there , the smaller ones were all gone. The last bidder took the remaining four of the smaller ones. The bigger size must not be as popular. They still have plenty of them left.

I pulled the link for the second size down because I wasn't sure what size they were at first. Here is a link of the different size quick disconnects. There is not a lot of difference between the -2 and -3 sizes so using a -3 would probably work just fine, (it has for me). http://www.bellmemphis.com/products/bm2258/

Thanks for posting my photo GF, I talked to John Emery and he did some measurements and says the -2 size is correct for the throttle (he says the -3s work just fine). The -3 size is the ones used on the pull start cable disconnect. The -5 size is the one that go on the clutch and brake cable.

UPDATE! they have listed more of the -3 size (they are for the pull start cable, but will work just fine on the throttle cable). They have jacked up the price to $15 so I believe John Emery is cheaper. They also have the -4 size up as well now, but they don't fit anything on our mules.
