Re: Crossover part numbers
As Lance states that is the tool you want. You will need to get a longer bolt [Grade 5 0r 8] and chase the threads another inch. You could use an elevator bolt or all thread rod but those are usually Grade 1 or 2.
The shift shafts do not stick out enough to use the bolt supplied.
Caution tighten the tool into the seal very snugly in order to bite into the metal seal casing [jacket] otherwise you pull the rubber seal leaving the outer casing.
You can only pull one seal at a time.
When installing the first seal I install lip facing in to prevent lube leaking out and the outer seal lip facing out to act a a shaft wipe.

Re: Crossover part numbers
The seal number is a National 340771, about $3 from O'Reilly's or a C/R 4938. Stay away fro the ones with the plastic casing (NAPA). You will need 6. Charles is correct on the installation, inner seal - lip in, outer seal - lip out. Don't pay any attention to how your seals are installed now, they are most likely incorrect, install as described above per the TM. Be sure to polish any paint off the ends of the shift shafts before installing the new seals. And....buy the tool!

Check while you are at O'Reilly's, last seal pullers we bought were from them and were less than $20.

That's the correct part number, but does it have the metal or plastic casing?

Re: Crossover part numbers
That looks the the one I found a Rock Auto. I prefer the metal casing seal but if you can only get the rubber casing use grease so the rubber doesn't peel back when installing.

Re: Crossover part numbers
Summit Racing will have them and it's usually only a day or two to ship. Shipping is flat rate at I think $10 now? If you order $100 worth of stuff shipping is free. I usually just bloat the order with oil filters and stuff for my daily drivers. I'll use them eventually............
