SeaBee Mule spotted in SoCal

Post by Lance-W » Thu May 25, 2017 10:58 am

A friend of mine spotted this on his way into work this morning. It was on CA-118 eastbound at what we call Rocky Peak. It's the ridge between Simi Valley and the San Fernando valley.

Anybody know who it is or if they're a member here?

Kudos for whoever it is and driving around in this state with the 106RR

Im curious, does anybody else pull their mule on a two wheel trailer? I dont have a trailer but for some reason i didnt think the two wheel one would work well.

Two wheel trailer works just fine, I have a enclosed trailer. and have pulled it all over the country and it works great. it is really nice when you get to an event and run into rain, mule sits under canvas cover, and it sure is nice to sit inside and have some room to move around.
The weight is not that much different than a golf cart. most of the time I check the mirror to see if it is still behind me, it pulls so easy.

I agree a two wheel trailer is great for the mule. I pulled a mule from Illinois about 700 miles on a 6' x 10' single axle tilt trailer. It has a 5 lug hub and ST225/75R x 15 10-ply trailer tires at 55 psi. Keep at least 10% tongue weight and you will have no problems.

I have to agree with Old Man. I just went to a two wheeled enclosed trailer. Great for storage of the mule, at a show the mule gets covered outside and my bed goes in the trailer.

When I haul a single mule, I use this little single-axle trailer.

When I haul two mules, I use my double-axle trailer.

When I haul four mules, I use the goose-neck trailer.

I use a lil cheapo single axle 5x8 mesh from rural king put some 2x8 runners down drive it up till it hits the front then strap it down unless turning backing up real tight turns I don't even bother taking the foot cage off.take it everywhere from Chicago to Knoxville Tennesseelike that

I avoid maintenance and storage issues of having a trailer and simply go to UHaul when I need to move my mule.
Their 5 x 9 open ramp trailer is a perfect fit every time. Cheap too.
