Seriously modified mule on ebay
I'm sort of surprised how much the bidding has run the price up already. Volkswagon engine, hacked up deck, different rims and tires, homemade gas tank, bell housing, and the mother of all footbaskets. The seller states he has all the parts to put it back stock, but that is a genset engine with all the wrong parts for a mule except the carburetor, so I am not so sure....

The golf carts tires are a nice touch. Looks like he had custom wheels made for Mulezilla.

This one came up on G503 under
Board index ‹ G503, WWII Jeeps, Willys MA, Willys MB, Ford GP, Ford GPW, Bantam BRC ‹ Willys MB & Ford GPW, For Sale Section
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=286212&p=1659882&hi ... e#p1659882
The front of the bed missing this would be a hard one to restore without another bed and lots of parts.

Re: Seriously modified mule on ebay
The part that always amazes me is that the owners actually think their modifications 'improved' their mule.....
I use my mule a lot at my railroad museum and need all of the deck space that a mule has.

Call me crazy, but I just prefer totally stock, unmolested vehicles. I'm not a big fan of restored mules, I like the "in-service" look! It's only this way one time! You just can't improve on the mule design!

Re: Seriously modified mule on ebay
One thing I have wondered is that the ride 'might' be slightly smoother if the driver is sitting between the front and rear axle. I was talking to John Emery the other day and he said his HEMMET rides ROUGHER than the ride of his mule probably because he is sitting ahead of the front axle. He said he needs a 10 ton load in the back to make the ride a little softer.

I agree with Chuck. Hard to come by these days in original unmolested condition. The one in the other post for sale in S CA looks real nice.

Well, bidding sputtered out just below 4 grand. That is more than double I think its worth to me.
