At this point in my search I don't know what the price would be for a unit that I'm looking for.
What do you have?

Well this kinda falls under the heading of "Everything is For Sale at the right price". I never had any thoughts of selling this but....for the right price.....
It's not completely done yet but it also is not that far from being done.
It'll be expensive.

viewtopic.php?f=79&t=267953 It's long so obviously you might want to skip towards the end.

Hi Lance, What a fantastic restoration! I can imagine the hours and dollars that you have put into it, and it will surely be out of my price range but let me know when you've put a price on it.
Thanks for the reply, Stewart

Thanks for the reply Chuck. It gives me a good idea what one will cost. I would pay up to the $8000. for a top end Mule. It's a bummer living in Canada and having to pay an extra 35% in exchange plus freight!
Thanks again.

Yes, I feel your pain (Ontario) regarding exchange rates right now.
You are likely better off to drive down and bring back a mule yourself. No shipping fees, no brokerage fee etc. Receipt and pay the tax at the border.
I have seen a few mules over the past couple years come up for sale at shows like Aberdeen MD and Gilbert PA for decent prices.
Depends on whether or not you want a "restored" mule or a really decent, complete operational one that is ready to go and have some fun with.
Last one I saw in Gilbert the guy wanted $6500 for and it was worth every penny of that. I would have bought it in a heartbeat but pocket was empty and already have two at home! I lucked out when I found my second one in Sudbury ON and only paid $2500 for it... Beat up, scruffy and needs work but I use it all the time for tasks around the property without issue.
Where are you in Canada?

Hi Chris, Thanks for the reply. It sounds as if that unit in Gilbert would be what I wanted. We don't have that many military swap meets close across the border but that's why I'd like to find one in the Pacific NW. We could drive down and pick it up. I'll just have to wait and see what shows up.
I live 1/2 hour north of Calgary, AB.
What do you have for MV's?
I have a
M38 Willys which I'm going to sell, M38CDN with M100, & a 42 MB ,
The wife & I are very active in a military club "Prairie Motor Brigade" which we help start in 2013 for southern Alberta & Saskatchewan.
Thanks again for the comeback.

Stewart
I was just on Steel Soldiers and there is a nice package for sale in the Classifieds section. M274A5 requires work but lots of new parts etc to go with it. No affiliation with the seller but priced well at $6000USD. Located in N CA.
I have two mules an 1968 M274A5 and a 1958 M274
Also two M38A1 CDN 3 Jeeps.
Tons of surplus stuff radio gear etc.
Have been into the MV scene for almost 25 years running the gamut from jeeps right through heavy trucks and armour and back again.

Stewart, you must be in the same neck of the woods as my friend Wayne Hingley.
I visited with him back in Feb when I was in Calgary for work.
Headed back out that way end of July.

YES, Wayne joined the "Prairie Motor Brigade" and we have been to several events together and the commitee that is organizing our 1st MV show and Swap Meet.
He lives about 12-15 miles west of us. Neighbours! Have Wayne bring you over for coffee & a llok at our jeeps!
See you later. Stewart

Stewart, check the post for the S Cal mule at the museum. Looks like a great start, especially all original and never messed with.
