nuts, shells in air cleaner bucket

I decided to look at the air cleaner in my mule, found in the bucket...nuts, shells from the nuts!!! I shall have checked it when I bought it!!!Now how the heck could a squirrel put that stuff in there!!!I'd post pictures but photo bucket don't work for me neither does surface zero.I am still learning about this mule, haven't drove it much lately, just changed oil but this time I put MMO in it.Someone wrote that MMO isn't good to use as it thins out the oil??

Better check and make sure the rubber hose between the air cleaner and the left frame tube is intact.
Nothing wrong with MMO, cup in the engine oil and a cup in the gas tank.

The rubber hose from air cleaner to frame tube is there, I tried blowing air thru the air filter in and out, can't feel air going thru it, tried water both ways, that doesn't go thru it, the air filter says to use solvent but the company is out of business(doling corp)
I tried K&N power kleen for cotton air filters & multi-purpose deep cleaner.That did make the rinsing water become dirty.Light still don't shine thru it.Air still don't go thru it
