Didn't these early mules have a downward slope on the footbasket?

I think the pre production prototypes had the sloped foot basket.

Thanks for the compliment!
We worked hard to make it look this good, in the time frame that we had. We picked this up mostly disassembled in April.
A big Thanks to MG42 Charlie, who we bought it from. It came with the correct NOS foot basket, NOS engine guard, NOS crank, NOS tow bar, deck covers,& very earl hubs without the lifting eyes. There are still a few bugs to work out. But all in all a very nice mule. Thanks to Muleman7 for the technical info, parts & taking the time to help out us Mule rookies!
We are just finishing up our 10-64 M274A1 right now & should have them both at The Armed Forces Day MV meet in Findlay.
And, again, a HUGE Thank You! to ChuckW for posting the pictures!

Looks fantastic, the lack of eyelets threw me, but as you stated, no on this early model.

Darryl
Looks great. I can hardly wait for the day I get mine done up. Right now it is my functional mule while my A5 is still torn to bits and undergoing restoration.
Hoping to be at Findlay this year for the weekend so hope to catch up.

It would be cool to see 3- 4 cylinder mules in one spot!

Well Darryl maybe one day we can do that.
My A5 is slowly coming back together after a complete mechanical overhaul.
My M274 gets regular use right now. I am slowly collecting the goodies to complete a 106mm for it.
Looking forward to the day it rolls out complete with all the kit.
I collect VN era stuff as well to really make an outstanding display one day.
The hard part is that VN stuff is pretty hard to come by here in Canada so I always have to wait until I get south to scour the swap meets for interesting items
