What's the general opinion on Marvel Mystery Oil?
I put some into my fuel on the M274 a couple weeks ago and it seems to run better every time I start it.
Not bad considering it has been sitting all winter and as I just bought this one and know very little history on it.
Only thing I really did was check the oil, the covers for rat nests and refilled it with Premium grade gasoline.
It was a little rough running but I tinkered a bit with the choke cable so it would open fully and reset the idle around 850rpm.

Re: MMO
I use Rislone in my oil 2-8 oz to keep the hydraulic lifters clean and functioning properly. Others use MMO and either is a great product.
My brother-in-law used MMO in his boat when he puts it in winter storage. He adds it to the fuel then runs the engine until it is distributed throughout the fuel system.
I use Sea Foam in the fuel plus I only run NON Ethanol fuel and add 2 ozs of STA-BIL per 5 Gallons.
http://knowhow.napaonline.com/sea-foam- ... ou-use-it/
"In the fuel – One can treats up to 25 gallons of fuel. This will remove deposits from the fuel pump, injectors or carb jets, control moisture, and stabilize the fuel. In diesel engines, it will de-ice and has anti-gel properties."
With the introduction of Ethanol this product has done damage to the small engines that were not built to withstand the harsh reaction to rubber and its high affinity to water. So fuel systems that have used ethanol treated fuel have seen increased corrosion and rubber deterioration.
MMO, STP, Lucas, Sea Foam and Rislone are products that can help dissolve sludge and corrosion and restore efficiency.
Research and pick the best product every one has their preferences.

Re: MMO
I run some in my vintage Kohler engined Cub Cadet lawn tractor that I use to mow the lawn, plow snow & drag around a spreader about once a month. It keeps the exhaust valve from getting carbon buildup. I bought this tractor 9 years ago on Ebay with " A broken Rod". Priced accordingly. I hauled it home & pulled the head, only to find that the exhaust valve was stuck open!

Re: MMO
I only recently found MMO available here in Canada, at Walmart of course!
I've read lot about it in various posts on the Forum and thought I would try some.
Having lots of wrench turner friends, none of them have ever used it or even heard about it.
I think I am a convert now and will use this in all my MVs.

Re: MMO
It works great in air tools like impact guns and air ratchets, just squirt some in the air intake hose before you hook it up to the air line.
