Thanks! It sure seems like it is taking forever to me, but it's been a fun learning experience. Hopefully the transmission repair will go smoothly. I'm a bit more worried about it than I was with the engine build.

When I get some time, I'll try the rifle rack on the steering bar and see how that works out. I'll post pictures when I can get to it.

Well between reading up on the manuals and watching Chuck's great set of how to pictures, and having the patience to take your time getting it right the first time, you will have a successful outcome. Good luck and am looking forward to your progress photos.

I have a short barrel pump shotgun and a .22 I plan to carry, do you think those mounts would adapt?

The one's I posted would work. Not sure about the military ones.

As requested, I moved the rifle carrier to the steering column bar. Here's what it looks like. I think it would get in the way of trying to shift. I might try it though.

I think you are right about getting to the shift handle. On the other hand how often do you need to shift? I put mine either in low or high speed and hardly change it unless the terrain changes a lot.

That is a pretty wicked looking rifle, what do you have there?

Like you said, I think it really depends on the terrain. If you are on flat land, it probably wouldn't be much of a bother, but in the mountains, it might be cumbersome.

The rifle is one of the new Ruger Precision Rifles. It is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. They just came out and are a great deal for anyone who wants to get into the long range shooting game. I haven't gotten to shoot it much, but so far I'm pretty impressed. It has a whole lot of features that a person would pay thousands more when buying a custom made rifle. I shot if Saturday to get the scope sighted in and am hoping to shoot it out to 1200 yards soon, to see how she does. May have to see what she can do at a mile. :D

Is that cartridge used for hunting, or is it mainly a competition target round.

Both. It is a very accurate round and the factory offerings from both Hornady and Winchester are every bit as accurate as hand loads. I really like the cartridge.
