Re: NDT style mule tire
I'll boil this all down as far as tires are concerned:
The NDT tires are repros, and all the usual vendors sell them. All the Mule guys, Coker, Wallace Wade, Universal, ect sell them. There is only one MANUFACTURER of them. All the NDT's say SPECIALTY TIRE OF AMERICA on them.
The NDMT's are the "real deal USGI issue" ones, but there currently is no manufacturing of them going on.They all say DENMAN on them. (Edited to add possibly Goodyear also) Coker and Summit Racing SAY they are going to sell them, but that hasnt happend yet. Occasionally you can find them NOS, but a set of new ones is rare. When you do find them NOS, they are big $$$$.. If Coker gets their version going, that would be great, but as of right now, thats not going to happen in the near future.
If you want NEW tires TODAY, the only choice as of right now is the NDT's.

Re: NDT style mule tire
To resurrect this thread, so we are four years later down the line, does anyone make or is there a source for the correct NDMD tyres. My tyres have plenty of grip but have lots of little age related cracks so would be nice to be replaced with a complete set of tyres.
I live in the UK and to the best of my knowledge Northants Tyres are my only option – I approached them to bring in a tyre from coker tyres BUT I have noticed that the tyre on the coker website pictured is a NDMD but the description says NDT (which is a bit naughty as when you zoom on the pic you can actually see it says Denham and NDMD) my Tyre arrives sometime in October however isn’t much use to me if it is indeed an NDT and not the NDMD pictured.

So my question, is anyone now making / selling NDMD tyres?

On a different note, is there any treatment that could prolong the life of my current tyres

Re: NDT style mule tire
I have bought probably 3 sets of 7.50 x 10 mule tires from Coker, and all were the correct NDMD tread. John Emery has the correct tubes with the short, fat TR13 stems.

Re: NDT style mule tire
I buy the Coker tire through Summet Racing, free shipping on orders over $99.

The last set I bought was last year.

Chuck, that is awesome thank you - it is odd as that product code on the coker site is described as an NDT when it is blatently an NDMD.

Re: NDT style mule tire
I believe the NDT Mule Tire is a regular tire as used on military ground handling equipment and a special run was made in recent years to satisfy the need by Mule owners.

Re: NDT style mule tire
Do the ndt deep lug tires last any longer on pavement than the correct mule tires. Other than the deeper tread is there any other differences?

Re: NDT style mule tire
You are correct. The NDT is not correct for the mule and should not be used especially on 4-wheel steer mules. And I personally think they look horrible on a mule! Go with the correct NDMDI believe the NDT Mule Tire is a regular tire as used on military ground handling equipment

Re: NDT style mule tire
Yep, think the ndt look totally wrong. My question was based on coker showing an image of the ndmd but describing it as an ndt. When I enquired I was told I would receive an ndt by my importer, however multiple sources are giving me hope that I will receive and ndmd tyre. I ordered only one to see that I receive the correct tyre. The product code seems to match. I find out Monday
