Bill Watson???

Postby InsleyGuy » Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:43 am

I don't know if anyone else has seen the post in the "Conversations" section over on the Steel Soldiers site saying that Bill will be selling the business within the next 2 weeks. With this being a way more active Mule group, does anybody have any more info. Tom

Tom,

Yes, Bill is wanting to slow down and finally retire (again) and has arrangements in place to sell his mule parts business in the next few weeks. We have known this for a while but Bill has not yet shared the details of the sale or to whom. We can only hope that the new person will continue to offer the parts at a fair price.

No reason to wait around and see.....

My mule is in great shape. If I did need anything, I'd stock up now rather than wait.......

Spoke with Bill this evening and he said who is buying it but not sure if it's public knowledge yet so will keep it sealed right now. It's a mule owner and should be, hopefully as good as Bill. Bill will be out of the mule business as of a week from this Friday.

Talked to Bill today and he's no longer taking mule parts orders. The new owner will be moving parts out starting this weekend, and hopes to be open for business in a month or two. I feel confident that the new owner will continue the tradition of excellent service that Bill has provided over the years. I hope everyone will bear with Bill and the new owner during this transition period. As soon as the new owner has the inventory moved and is in a position to fill orders, the contact information will be made public.
Bill, I have enjoyed our friendship over the years and hope you can finally enjoy your new retirement!

I have a few parts on the way from Bill that I ordered last week. I must say that it was a wonderful pleasure to visit with him over the phone. Too bad I couldn't get my steering box to him in time for a rebuild. Just ran out of time. Best of luck, Bill!

The buyer is John Emery. I'll provide the details of the sale as this progresses. As Paul Harvey used to say "And now the rest of the story". David Kelone

I know I have seen the name in MV magazine and the like. Is there any chance of him posting here with his intentions and plans?

Questions, assumptions and innuendos will commence immediately....
I believe that this is precisely why Mr. Watson and the buyer are keeping mum on this until things are concluded and underway.
We need to be respectful and give both individuals some breathing room...

All the more reason to come aboard and say Hi! Also, Dave K said he was moving, and now this. Is there a supplier of Mule parts for the next 2 months or so? Thats a major concern right now.
