For sale is a cargo hatch made into a coffee table from the WWII Liberty Ship Matthew Lion. The table dimensions are 27" wide X 59.5" long X 18.5" high. This table is solid wood and heavy. It's not often you get the history with a piece of furniture like this. The Matthew Lion was built at the Richmond ship yards in California in 1943. In August of 1943 this ship was torpedoed and sank. It was later repaired, raised and put back into service in 1944 with a new name, Zebra. Not only did this hatch come from a WWII liberty ship but one that was sunk, raised and put back into service. This table come with a certificate of authenticity. Price is $500.00.
Some time ago my Dad picked up a large brass shell casing for one of his project he never got to. Now it is used as a trash can. It is now for sale. I know most ships of the day had 5 inch guns but what kind of ship used an 8 inch gun? The shell is a MK-1 8 inch shell dated 1946. The diamensions are 21 1/4 inches long with a diameter of 9 1/2 inches. Price is $200.00 firm.
I'm heading to Tower Park and if you are seriously interested in these Items PM me. I can bring down to Tower Park, no charge for shipping.
Thanks,
Steve A.
