Re: LVT AMTRACs
Hi Arron
Thanks so much for the pics.
Was wandering what happened to those 2 ex Dubbo Military Museum LVT's
I know there is a complete restored LVT(A)-4 in Attwood, Vic. Not sure who the owner is though !
Pretty sure its the ex John Belfield Auction LVT(A)-4
Anyone know where the ex John Belfield LVT-4 went to ?
I heard it went overseas I think Belgium ??? Not sure
Kind regards
Jason

Re: LVT AMTRACs
There were two LVT4s and one LVT(A)4 at the John Belfield Auction. The restored LVT(A)4 stayed in Australia and was used in the "Pacific" mini-series. The restored LVT4 went overseas. The unrestored LVT4, I'm not sure what happened to it. I believe John supplied one LVT4 to the "Pacific" mini-series too. This vehicle didn't have a radial engine. Now John also has taken an LVT4 to Corowa since the "Pacific" mini-series. I believe this LVT4 did have a radial engine. Maybe someone else in the club will know if they are the same or different vehicles. Here is a photo of the unrestored LVT4 that was at the Belfield Auction. John came and visited me a year or so ago but I didn't think to ask him.

Re: LVT AMTRACs
Hi Arron
Fascinating info !
I'm hoping once I can establish the survivors I will be able to then try and identify the Australian Army LVTs by their ARN and original Factory Serial Number
Below is a couple that I have been able to identify so far
LVT-4 # ARN149467 (ex John Belfield Auction, sold overseas)
LVT-4 # ARN149396 Rob Lowden/The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum
LVT-4 # ARN149463 John Belfield
LVT(A)-4 # ARN159843 John Belfield
Hopefully with luck I may find some more

Hi Aaron
Thanks for posting about the dubbo ones too. At least it solves (in my mind!) where they went.
Jason, if i can, next time i drive past the one at the Horsley Park disposals on Horsley Drive here in Sydney, i will get a photo.
Cheers,
Ian.

Hi Ian
Thanks, that would be great !
I tried emailing the Horsley Park Disposals about the LVT, but didn't receive any response.

Hi Jason,
If you can try this link it might have done my job (kinda). I wondered what google street view would show and sure enough, it shows it well, or well enough to start with!
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.852 ... e0!6m1!1e1
If the link doesnt work, type in 751 Horsley drive into google, click the map that comes up, the click on the street view image and there she is, all nice and lime green!
Cheers,
Ian.

Ian
Love your work Mate !
Was able to get a little closer
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.852 ... XJNsow!2e0
Besides the lime green paint I noticed the Turret has been moded a little to look like a medern tank turret.
Appreciate your help with this
