LVT AMTRACs

Post by LVT4 » Fri Dec 19, 2014 11:16 pm

G'DAY

I'm new to this forum
Looking into obtaining a LVT!
Interested to hear from any LVT owners and or anyone who knows of surviving AMTRACs, Parts and Manuals (even general enthusiasts)
Amazed at the lack of General information on surviving LVTs, parts etc.
Does any one know of any LVT Organisations, clubs Association's around?
Trying to put together a listing of all the LVTs around!

Please feel free to email me. Waxx76@bigpond.com and or this website.

Thanks

Jason

Welcome Jason,
I am adding this link to an earlier thread. I would be glad to assist you in formalizing a list. I started a simple one about six or so posts into that thread.

Heres a few i know of/remember.

There's one with a turret at Horsley Disposals, I think now called peters military and camping, horsley park drive, here in Sydney. It was painted yellow when I saw it in the last few years.

I am not sure what happened to the 2 (one a cargo one, the other one with a turret) out at Dubbo in the museum which closed. I assume sold. I THINK I heard a rumour one went to the UK?

I think (again!) Ross Prince submitted photos to a MJCQ Command and Reconnaissance 'discovered' back page section years ago of a few used in dams at mines, I think as pumping stations. He should be able to give you some better details if t was he who submitted them, if not, someone might remember seeing the issue.

There is also the John Belfield one (or more?) which has been to Corowa.

I think I knew of another which was public knowledge or could be mentioned, but I can't remember where!

Perhaps AAVA here in Sydney has some members with an LVT or who would know where some are?

Hope this helps,
Ian.

There is an LVT located on a property near 'Nea', half way between Gunnedah and Quirindi. It can be seen from the road. The owners name escapes me at this point of time.
