Well, the taxman cometh.
I am now offering this raft for what I paid for it. So, if anyone wants a VERY durable, well-made 10 man raft, here it is. The last comment suggested it was post-WWII but this is contrary to what the WWII sailor indicated. In any event, this military raft can be used for playing in the water, doing some serious rapids running or for use during military events. Far cheaper than a commercial raft, even much smaller ones. $1200. Still located in Dayton, Ohio.

I had posted photos of this large rubber raft before the holidays and have decided it needs to go. A few years ago, a neighbor's friend sold me a wooden crate marked "Landing Boat, 1-10 Man". Not all of the crate was intact so some of the contents could be seen. I was not disappointed when we got the crate open and, subsequently filled the rubber raft with air. There are seven separate air chambers, all of them have held air for at least three months, everything seems to be intact and in working order with the small exception of a single pull rope that is broken. The friend of the neighbor insists it is from WWII as it came from a WWII sailor's estate. Currently, the raft is deflated and as you might guess for something like this, it is very heavy. Comes with the original wooden crating stenciled/marked as above and with "Do Not Store Near Boiler". Located in Dayton, Ohio and asking $2000.00.

I would say that by the design of it, Korea/VietNam era. When I was with the Ranger unit, we used extremely similar rubber rafts called RB-15's. You straddle the large side tubes and let your outboard leg rest on the smaller outer tube running down both sides. The RB-15's have a very hard inflatable rubber floor board.
I would sure like to know exactly what you have.
