Ken,
This is not a typo.
I have spent 2 years collecting parts to be able to offer a complete door and lock package. I have over $1000.00 invested in locks and parts. I paid over 2 hundred for one lock that I still have not been able to get a key made for. I have provided locks and parts to 4 people that I know at no cost or my cost. I only have the one door. This is a rare opportunity for someone to finally get the door and lock to finish their factory restoration. It looks like I have offended at least 2 people here and I'm sorry. If anyone else gets offended I will remove the offer and put it on eBay.

hi ed
i don't think e.o. is offended,
just a little surprised at the price.
i also have a spare door and lock,
and will hang onto it if it is
worth this much!
i'm always amazed at how little
the things i think will bring a lot on ebay,
and vice-versa.

Ed,
Nice photo's, nice key lock!
It is your full right to ask the price you want. Next time you put something for grabs for $2 they probably will ask you ".... typo?"
If you don't want to pay the price someone is asking, don't pay!
Good luck with selling!

I'm glad someone DID ask! Why? Because like me I think many of us just think the lock is a little chunk of metal, easily repro'd and not worth that much. Obviously this is not true and the explanation by Ed is a good one--thanks for advising why these are priced the way they are (when was the last time you saw a slat lock come up for sale here to compare against?). Nobody has to justify their pricing but sometimes an explanation does help some understand, appreciate the piece more and perhaps buy!
Good luck Ed, nice lock and door. Regards, Dave.

Sargeant Maj;
With all due respect, we need more wake up calls to the value of true craftsmanship and artisan productions or resurrections. When a foreign shop can stamp out "near - enuffs" at a nickle-ninety-five each and temps me to bolt them on until I can find the real McCoy then I can see a piece of art like this...well, it keeps me fired up to keep plugging away at the real thing.
I am far more famililiar with the M37 series and abundance of parts that can be bought back to new when needed and am a bit spoiled because of the relative ease. But this 1/4 ton equipment is frustratingly entrancing.
Makes me jealous, the tin I work on has yet to look this good! Thanks for the standard to shoot for.

Re: For Sale: Early Glove Box Door and Keyed Lock.
Hi everybody,
Can someone help me in understanding if glove box door was different on slat grill compared to the standard Willys MB door ? I heard that the slat grill door has the key lock hole in a lower position compared to the standard push button fitting hole. Moreover it seems that the slat grill door does not have the return spring slot.
Thank you !
Paolo

I would say that as the post is over 10 years old, it's a pretty safe bet its long gone.
Ford GPW 6008, in slow process of restoration.
