Here's another to add to the list. #121982 DOD 2/23/42. The jeep is not mine, the owner will not sell (yet  ). I am going to try and keep an eye on this one though and hopefully save it from total destruction. It no longer has the slat grille, stamped instead, but had some of the original parts such as light switch, speedo, fuel gauge, side handles and tranny. Motor was the f head. I did record the data plate info and put it in the serial numbers page so that might help somebody that has one close to it someday.

I.....................have sadly..........................sold my slat

It will be taking a boat ride to the UK, I'll let the new owner chime in to stake his claim.

Interesting....................I know where #115116 is, and its in Tx also, but its for sale right now, and also has a stamped grill in place! ALL the guages are present!

For Williams info, it is # 115116, matching frame and data plates, has late war replacement engine, from the pic I have of it DOD appears to be 1-25-42

Hopefully someone will snag it before a hunter does

I now own Willy's MB Slatgrill 106112 date of delivery 12-23-1941. No hood numbers or anything else found so far.

Orignal brass data plates. Titled as a 1942 Ford due to engine #GPW95857 being installed. I am going to try to get then title to say Willy's.

There are three serial numbers (that may not be the correct term) that you can look for.
1. The serial number on the engine located behind the oil filter can, on the front passenger side of the engine.
2. The gusset on the tub which is located on the triangular reinforcement located below the horn. This item is used to mount the "firewall area" to the frame. There is a number "stamped" near the vertical edge.
3. On the dash you should have three data plates. One of these will have a delivery date and serial number. All the slats I know of used pan head sheet metal screws to attach the plates.

There are a number of other clues like no glove box, three studs for the tire carrier; pan cake air cleaner etc.

I too am very new to this game even though I had my 12-31- 41 Willys since 1958. So listen up to the folks with the real "dope". Hope it proves out to be what you are wishing for. Jim

Please over look my spelling and typing just got off a wild land fire.
