yeah my glovebox doesnt have the data plate anymore which is a real bummer and i have yet to find that serial number. i will take another look, hopefully i can find it after this time (probably about 5-10 times searching for it laying on the garage floor.) i really want to see what it is just by looking at pictures can anyone give me a little better idea on what i have, if i were to throw up some pictures?

Hi Guys,
1.- the slat grill # 115466 isn't mine. It's in Argentina, but belongs to somebody else. Can somebody remove my name from the list ! Tks in advance.
2.- That Jeep has a non slat frame, but it has the 3 data plates with the number #115466 and D.O.D. 2-2-42
3.- The body tub has stamped a number but is difficult to know if it's the 19507/19557/19607 or 19657 (see photo)

Can some body tell me which would be the correct tub number for this slat ?
Tks in advance,
Charlie

Your list is so inaccurate - why bother keeping it posted? You refuse or don't have time to update.

Mike,
Reading your concerns from someone who actually has fewer posts to the "G" than I do, leads me to sit and ponder the type of life you live and take pity on those who share it with you. I am by no means any type of expert on the "G" and with just a few more posts to my credit than you have, I would never make a statement demeaning any fellow member of what is by far and without any question the most knowledgable group of individiuals in the entire WORLD when it comes to information on the Willys/Ford Military Jeeps.
It would behoove you to calm your rhetroric and realize how lucky you are to be able to ask questions in regards to your MB/GPW and in turn get them answered within a usually reasonable period of time and most of the time get information back from more than just one member of the "G".
If this type of system does not meet your needs of immediate gratification you demand in regards to the questions you ask to a group of unpaid but dedicated group of members/volunteers, then I suggest you delete your shortcut to the "G" and in turn forward your questions to the "OBAMA White House" and see how fast and more importantly how accurately they respond to your questions.
Sincerely,
Rick Daniel

Could someone please let me know how I can access the updated slat list...is there a link somewhere I have not found or are the updates always incorporated in the list on the first page of this thread? If the first page of this thread then William could you please also add my slat (100018) to the list.
Thanks much, Bruce

I have an early motor in my Feb 1944 MB. Number 103961. Cast number 10/13. Build date October 16th, 1941. It has been stamped 12 A W (12 Australian Workshop?) dated July 24th, 1945 when it was probably reconditioned. No details of where the actual donor jeep has gone to.

I know this is a late commit to your post of Sept 20,2010, about not keeping the serial number list up to date. You do not know the work it takes in keeping serial numbers of vehicles. I have about 25 different serial number lists I have been keeping for several years, and about every night I'm work on them in some way. Whether it is adding vehicles, adding information to the list a vehicle I have, etc. I have about 6,500 MB jeeps listed alone, not including GPW's, do you know how lone it has taken me to built that list. I started about 1972 and have been keeping it going, for the reason is I enjoy helping people figure out different things about there jeep, such as DOD's, engine serial numbers, if the body is factory on there jeep. It is a thankless job, but a lot of people appreciate the info they receive. I would suggest you try starting a serial number list and see how much time you want to donate to keeping it up dated.

My 12.12.41 Slatgrill is 103636. Its the one in RAF colours on the front of Bart Vanderveens 1989 Military Vehicles Directory. Still registered for the road on its civilian registration FF 65 55 dating from 1947 when it came out of service.
