Code OD Paint for Slat #115466 DOD 2-2-42

Post by DIEGOTERRERO » Fri Jul 14, 2017 6:38 am

Hello boys

I'm about to begin the paint job on the Slat with serial number 115466 and DOD 2-2-42.

We have chosen the color OD WW2 code 33070 of G503
We have already done some tests and it seems to be going well.

Is that correct for the date of manufacture of my unit?
What do you think?

regards

Diego, here in England we have about 6 different shades of olive drab, the only noticeable difference is for a USMC jeep, the paint used on them is a lot darker than the average olive drab shade. Hope this helps.

Mark..
So you say, that in England you have 6 types of differents OD. I see
In my Country the same thing happnes, no OD match with another from one Jeep to another.
Is a subject of difficult solution and goes in personal tastes

A friend has guided me to follow the path of the experts and not to innovate
Then I chose just like he did, code # 33070 OD WW2 Period Pre War

I hope I have chosen the correct tone for my Slat that is from 2 Feb 1942 with serial number 115466
