42 dated fuel pump info

Post by 7777kx » Thu May 18, 2017 9:00 pm

Could the experienced forum members tell me please, did all the early dated pumps that would be fitted to Willys have the hand-crank lever on the side of the casting?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much
Alan

Alan,

Yes, I have an October 1941 dated base for my Slat and it does have the lever.

Thank you for both the replies....any chance of a photograph of the date coded area on the pump? for my reference in trying to find one for my Slat.

Here are two pics of my original 41 dated AC fuel pump base. The first pic is an overview and the second is an edited zoom-in to best show the detail of the marking. I hope this helps.

Chris's shows six ticks on the date wheel indicating June. The top will also be dated.....during overhauls, "parts is parts" but a factory pump MIGHT have two parts from the same month or one monthe earlier/later. A factory resto MIGHT have a pump with components from the same month as the jeep.....but easily one to two months dated prior to the jeep DOD would be OK.

Here is a dated TOP:

Hello Chris and Chuck
On the Chris's pictures, we can see the lever is on the left side.
This bottom pump is for GMC CCKWX because the lever on the Jeep is the right side.
I have the same bottom AC pump marked 41 for GMC CCKWX
But you can disassembly the lever and change the position, be careful with the seal they fragile and very hard to find
I'm searching since a long time an complete full repair kit with the shaft, seals and lever
Friend of mine in Normandy as found some old NOS fuel pump repair kit with this item
If somebody has an address where we can purchase it it will be great?

Thank you
Christophe

PS I have added pictures!!

Hello Chris and Chuck
Please find some picts about my AC pump dated december 41 rebuild by an professional in USA.
Unfortunately when this guy sandblast or cleaned the parts of this pump one of the marking left!
All accessories bowl and screw are NOS
but look some interesting details on it...

Thanks
