DOD and Registraion Number Question

Ok I am working on slat #116494 and have finally uncovered the rear panel number and it appears to be 2048180. It is not on the original factory coat of paint as I haven't got there yet. My two questions are is that number correct and not altered over several repaints? I think its on the third layer of OD. Also will that tell me my DOD? I have the frame tag, but not the dash plates so I really hope this helps me pin point a DOD. I will post pictures when I start a progress thread on this project. There pretty difficult to see.



Separate topic. the only primer I see on this jeep is a light green like I have seen on early GPWs. Is this common for slats? Its on the body tub at least.. Thanks Jared

We have #110247 (Jan. 8, 1942) and the number we came up with is 2040321. It's certainly not the 100% correct hoodnumber but I'm pretty sure it's not that far from it either and your number combo fits the range too.
