Re: WANTED - Pancake filter and slat gauges
Mike Stopforth has reproduction air cleaners, both Ford and slat. Joe's Motor Pool is reproducing the gauges. His Speedos are pretty nice. As to originals, I looked for years before I found gauges and a speedometer that I could afford. Maybe prices on originals will come down now that quality replacements are becoming available. Russ

Is there any chance of adding a link to the gauges mate? Unable to find them on his website.gidad wrote:Mike Stopforth has reproduction air cleaners, both Ford and slat. The Joes motor Pool Slat Speedos are available now, the rest of the gauges should be available sometime this year. I have one of his Speedos and it looks great.
See a post regarding his parts here.

Thanks for this mate. I have one of the Motometer conversions myself. Not the real one unfortunately. But the photo you posted , the speedometer looks very nice.hell-fire wrote:The Joes motor Pool Slat Speedos are available now, the rest of the gauges should be available sometime this year. Re: WANTED - Pancake filter and slat gauges
Found out this week at Petaluma that Mike Stopforth has sold out his business and I don't know where the parts went and whether there will be any more of the pancake air filters. (Anybody have any info on this?)
I did get another look at the repro Speedos that our sponsor is now carrying. Very nice. And the repro carburetors are pretty good, too. Chuck Lutz made a side by side comparison with his very nicely restored 539 carbs. This is what he said:
FYI...I have seen a side-by-side comparison with the ones Joe's Motor Pool is having made...they pass the six-foot test, but if you look close enough there are some differences between them.
Chuck Lutz
Ron said the carbs were tested and run over a year and a half and the glitches were fixed and the end product works well. Between Ron and Chuck's comments, you get a good feel for the quality of the product. They run good and you have to look closely to see the difference.

Re: WANTED - Pancake filter and slat gauges
The new Slat speedometers are nice but there is enough difference between those and an original that anyone with even a little familiarity with MB Autolite speedometers can tell the difference. They are a very nice substitute though.
