Seat Canvas mounting question

Post by rustfarm » Sat Feb 11, 2017 4:03 pm

Where do the canvas seat bottoms screw to the frames? All my sear canvas butt cusions are the zipered type.
Anyone have a photo of how the canvas flaps get screwed to the frames? What about the rear seat butt cusion too?
Tks,
Rustfarm

I have just read this post and seen the posted pictures, which are very informative, but now gets me wondering.........
My Dec 41 built Willy's has, i believe, its original rear seat frame. It's rear seat lower cushion had its mounting holes in the top of the frame tube, so visible. Not as shown in your "correct" pictures.
The holes in my seat frame were old, with one broken screw still stuck in the central hole and there were no other cushion fixing holes.
Not sure whether mine are incorrect, but based upon the rest of my Jeep, the seat frames appear to be correct to the vehicle, but it is 75 years old and a lot has happened to it in that time.
best wishes
Alan

An Awl is a very useful tool when locating screw holes in your new cushions. Your Local Ace or Tru-Value Hardware is the place to go.

Send me your email and I'll send you some pics of my slat rear seat with what may be original cushions, and how they are attached. But it is just what Chuck shows in his pics. Russ

Thanks for the advice about my Slat and the rear seat cushion mounting.
My email address is: (Click on the email Icon) so would appreciated a copy of your original unit installed.
