Help verify Slat Frame

Post by Oddball42 » Fri Oct 02, 2015 2:22 pm

Can someone please, please point me to the forum discussion that lists the details of the frame differences for a slat grill. I know I saw it and of course can't find it now.

Finally got my body off to start patching the floor, but the frame is in pretty rough shape with major repairs. I need to determine if its actually a slat frame and worth saving. No frame tag on it.

Here are a few pics of the frame as found

Yes. You have the remains of the early style battery tray ... plus the short reinforcement straps. Slat frame for sure.

These frames are soooo scarce, good luck with your repairs.

Shock mount is slat style too. It is not reenforced with ridges as the later ones were.
