Laurent in France

Post by Rajeee » Sun Mar 23, 2014 3:31 pm

Hi Guys

I sent my gauges to France to be rebuilt by Laurent.

I have sent him numerous emails and last heard from him in October of last year. Does anyone have a phone number or contact for him.

Regards

Adam

Adam, I had some number for LC Meca. Tried calling but no answer. He has had my
slat grill speedo for close to 2 years now. I know he was having health problems but
was better last October when I last heard from him. Anyone been in touch lately?

Laurent is very active on another site and posted stuff even yesterday!

I am not a member of that site. But I find it very disconcerting he is not returning any of my emails.

I'm also waiting on a speedo from Laurent, but I haven't been too worried as I know there must be a long queue of fellow jeepers in front of me. I hope he is ok? I can replace a speedo, but good health is more important.

Unfortunately, I cant replace a very expensive speedo, and all my other original gauges. And if you dont have anything being fixed by him. Its easy for you to be so care free. I hope his health is fine. And not so horrible as that he cannot reply to his emails.

I'm hoping he's still operating too, his work is fantastic quality. I have some jobs lined up but haven't heard from him since Feb last year.

Hope you get it sorted Adam, I too have a substantial investment in gauges and dread the thought of losing them in the post.

Hi Hinrik

Yes. He replied early this morning after numerous emails since last October.

Hopefully my gauges will be ready by April 16 he tells me.

Great News!

How is Iceland right now? I am in Canada to your south.

I need to mail him too, ask the status.

Not so cold here, wind and rain now = bring. Canada actually is much
colder in winter :)

You have a Canadian slat grill jeep? Did you post photos of it?

Yes. I like how the Vikings reversed the names of Greenland and Iceland to trick people. We are just coming out of a very long winter.

My Jeep is number #153 first day of production 1941 I have not posted any pictures. Probably when I am done.

Cheers

Adam, I strongly recommend that you don't do it like that. With such a
low serial number jeep, it would be fun to watch the progress as you go
along and once you hit a snag...which will most likely happen.. you can
always ask for advice as I am sure a lot of guys would be following your
thread. This could not only help you but also positive comments are
reassuring and motivating.

I am not sure what you mean. "Don't do it like what"?

My Jeep is complete and running already. I drive my Jeep to shows and displays very regularly, I was mostly was unhappy with the gauges, thats why I was having Laurent rebuild them.

Looks like I misunderstood you. I thought it was unrestored, not running. I meant
to say that threads with a few before and after photos are less interesting then
threads with detailed "as you go along" restoration photos. So I was just trying to
talk you into making a nice new thread which would be fun to follow :)
