So, I need a windshield for my Slat.
But do I need an early Low style or a regular style...and truthfully..what is the difference. Can someone post pictures of the two styles and key differences (size, holes - aka no universal gun mount, etc??) I searched the various threads but could not find a solid reference.
Also - I have only a Tub number to work with so far (Tub number is 13563). No data plate, frame tag buried under welded on reinforcements...assuming its there.
What is the likely DOD.
I will be sanding of the hood today with my son!! So more info coming.

Oddball,
The changeover from low windshield to standard happened at MB103545, ca 12 Dec 1941. These
should have a body number much lower then yours, so I think you just need the standard
windshield without mounts for rifle bracket. Recommend you grind of the welds from frame horn
to see if dataplate is still there.

Also, as Viking says, the windshield is standard but with the early brass catches. Not the pressed steel catches.
Good luck on your treasure hunt (frame tag). I removed about 60 lbs of steel crap from the frame of mine and voila…there the tag was. Made my day!

Re: What Windshield to buy??
Thanks Hinrik and David!
Looks like a regular windshield for me.
David - by brass catch you mean the hold down latches to hold the windshield in vertical. Yes, I have a pair of those!
I will update my Wanted posting to reflect I need a regular windshield.
Thanks again
Steven

Oddball,
Find the serial number, then it will be easier to figure out DOD. I might have some parts
for an early 42 slat grill jeep.
