Gimme an L! Gimme a Y!

Postby Rick O » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:14 pm

Getting to work on the rear panel and the L and Y on the WILLYS script is rotted away. Anyone have a source for replacement L and Y letters, or a whole new set of word?

There was someone who was making these letters from a 2 year old post, but no response to my emails.

Any help????

Rick;

Are the letters off a civy jeep windshield panel, hood or tailgate panel from a wagon the same size? If so, maybe a junkyard has the letters.

I am not sure about the tail-gate or windshield, I didn't even think of that. The hood letters are smaller, I have the letters from a hood. Thanks, I will need to research those two parts

Rick,
I think Classic Enterprises sells a stamped "Willys" patch for the back relatively cheaply. I was curious about them myself and how close they are to the original.

I am interested if you have any extras. Do you happen to have any pictures?

Rick, try Chris at army6x6@aol.com . He has made the press tool and, the last time I looked, he had a hand full of LY pressings on the shelf.
