I've been away from "construction" for awhile as well, life got in the way.....but I am jumping back in and the trend does seem to lean towards acrylics so practice practice practice for me too. I would love to follow along with how you make the jump to acrylics, keep the pictures coming !

Painted the initial areas as close as possible with my shaky hands. Never used to be that way thirty years ago.
Then a wash of flat black. After this dries it will get the highlighting done to make the shaded areas stand out more.

I still build a few. Finished an LVT 2 recently. Currently working on a Sherman.

I started following my father's passion for modeling, when I was 10...
Mainly with 1/35 MV models
Now I'm 30 years old and with my father we model on two different scale: 1/35 and 1/1
SAME PASSION!

My 1:1 takes up a lot more time than my 1:35 . I love them both

I hear ya. I have both 1:1 and 1:35. Both take lots of time and now the 1:35 are far more expensive than when I was doing them 35 years ago.

I, too, have been modeling for a while. (50 years +) I have a small room of various kits. I have 1/72 and 1/35 MV. 1/72 were for the cost and 1/35 is for the eyesight. Researching a project for a number of years and plan to build when I get photos of one area of the MV. Hope to view a 1:1 this fall and photo.
If I had the $$ and the proper set up, I would like to do a 1:1 of my own. Just will not work in my situation. So, scale models and sites like this have to provide me with information on MVs. thanks to all who post photos and comment on their restorations of MVs. I certainly appreciate the efforts.
