The original are expensive, and a dealer only has 3 of the 6 required...$ 68 ea. X 3 for [ silver bearing ]
I have repros that look like the smaller new style ones [ 12460290 ], for [ black bearing ].
I had them made the same height as old style retainers, but look like the new style retainers...takes 12.
Look um up on macmotors via part number.
Mine : $ 107 shipped

Ummmm guys, what the heck are bearing retainers? I've never had anything like that on my older turrets. Always had bearing outer ring bolted to the support, weapons tray and all the other gak bolted to the inner part of the bearing. I've run a dozen or more like this without issue, old silver bearings and the newer black bearings. Feeling kinda dumb on this one.

They may be talking about 12340312 (6) and 12460290 (12)?

What do they do? Or rather, why are they necessary? Like I said above, none of my turrets ever had them and I never had issues

The maintenance TM may be calling them roof retainers.
I haven't had my slantback for many years, but don't these go on the outside of the roof/ to hold the sheetmetal down?

Yes they go on the outside . They help seal the gap between the bearing and the roof and sandwich the bearing.

So, do they make one for the newer style 2" thick bearing, like the M1114? I did not see any on the diagrams I've found.
