Who are some of the companies you guys have your trucks insured with?
I was on the Geico website and a Hummer doesnt even appear for a year untill you hit 2003. It doesnt even list anything under the sub catagory for Chevrolet

Hard to get answers over the phone-I hit a local rep. for progressive ins.

Liability for my HMMWV is $216 per year-paid cash-got my card and walked out.

Oh-I called Geico 3 times and everyone said they do not insure HUMVEE's

I use AAA. They even use the 6 digit serial as VIN. No problems, did it over the phone.

I have it bundled with my other cars and I think its $275 in CA when I added it to my policy.

Heres my take on it.
First off let me say I never stop at NO and if anything it makes me push harder.
I called EVRYBODY FOR INSURANCE on my truck. I took all the suggestions here and called them too. Nothing. All I ever got was we dont insure military vehicles or if I called a military vehicle insurer, they said my truck was NOT OLD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As of 2 years ago I still have my personal toy insured via my commercial electrical contror insurance company as a service truck with liability only. NO FIRE AND THEFT OR COLLISION! 1400.00 per year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know where else to turn, no exageration I have spent countless hours emailling, calling and begging for insurance.

Thank god for my commercial policy with auto-owners.

i first called my regular co. geico and they said they could not insure it because it has a 6 digit vin number. my second call was to drive progressive ins. who sold me a liability policy for $318 a year and i've been with them for a year and a half now. they also offered me a full coverage policy for $1200. per year.

Go to a local progressive provider. Don't call, email or send smoke signals-go speak with them face to face, bring your current registration, title, and proof of home ownership, and copies of anyone in your household who has a drivers lisence. That should be all you need unless your state is different than VA.

$216 for liability or $798 for full coverage was/is my quote

My HMMWV is insured through 21st Century, along with my daily driver. They said "no" at first because they didn't have any Hummers in their books earlier than 1993, but with some persistence they passed me up the chain of command to the group that handles the special cases. They figured out how to set the rates, and I got my insurance. That was all about 6 years ago.

Good luck!
