Looks like the Aircondition in the fender of the new M1151, M1152, M1156

I thought that was what it was too, but the fotographer managed to take fotos that don't show the critical side area, so it might just as well be from a five ton truck.

The bracket on the lower brace's left end is definitely HMMWV so this might be for an AC unit but it could also be some other type of supplemental equipment cooling.

It's a lousey place to put a fan for cooling though. It'll pick up all kinds of dirt not to mention sucking in exhaust fumes. Something like this should draw air from the backside of the vehicle and should really be over on the right side.

Kurt,

While I agree about the location being badmud and stuff getting throw up onto the fan/condensor. I think you'll find that it is mounted on the RHS.
(You've got to sort of stand on your head while looking at the pic to get the orientation right.)

Also the vent on the outside of the truck that you can just see looks the same as the other Humvee A/C vents we've seen.

I guess the military is really paranoid about the effect of the hot condensor air on the trucks cooling and A/C really isn't a "mission critical" item, but an overheated/siezed engine is...

Cheers

Yes that is from a HMMWV I have pictures on my phone but cannot send them out from it for some reason. I crawled around a few of humvees that had that system

maybe they thought about the dirt/mud issue. isn't that a shield below the fan with dirt sprayed on it?
