'86,
Thats the HD idler from the M1114.
I'm using that style on my Humvee.
It fits perfectly.

idler arm

Post by dilvoy » Sun Mar 04, 2007 8:46 am

When I bought some parts from Lynch Hummer, I was told that they had a upgrade idler and center link. I was told that AMG changed the size of the idler and the stud of the idler and the hole in which it fits into on the center link.

George, that was when AMG introduced the Moog "Problem Solver" idler arm and thicker center link to the civvy trucks. I don't believe that the military has introduced these changes to the military trucks.

The only change I've seen is on the ECV trucks and this HD idler arm is used.

Greg, I would suggest you use the updated part its much tougher and is a direct bolt in.
If you notice that the split pin hole is a little too high above the castlated nut, its OK toput a hardened washer under the nut to space it up.
