AAAAAAActually, he just tore out the mounting points for the a-arms in the #1 Crossmember and bent the #2 Crossmember. I've replaced a few of those in my little tour of the sandbox, now I know how the bleep they did it.

There was an interesting thread about this on the HML.
One of the Desert Racer guys showed some pics of a reinforcement he made out of some strap that went across the truck betwwen the mounting points to prevent this happening.

I can try and cross post the pic if anyone is interested

I always thought the A-arms looked a bit "weak" for something that weighs 10,000+ lbs.

I'd love to see pics on the beefing up of the a-arms.

Hi Al,

It's not so much beefing up the A Arm as stopping the crossmembers from flexing and tearing.

These are pics taken by Cole (Hummin2london) on the HML.
Note that he has a really solid "Bash plate" protector under the diff too.

I think you could actually improve the design by using some angle iron instead of the flat strap for the brace.
