Re: Poject Humvee Milestone!
Still working on wiring up the lights Ted. A2 harness not an ECV so I am going to attach the lighting harness to the hood like an old school Humvee and make jumpers to lead to the head lamps. Then I'll get to the splash shields and then think about how I will make the upper area seal to the hood. Most likely like you say, ECV style rubber with some flat spring steel supports above something solid so the rubber is not too tall and flexible.

George,
If I can remember, after lunch, I will take a couple pics of the rubber and supports on top of the shields. I think the rubber flap is close to 4" and the metal supports are shorter. When the hood is closed for the first time, it will push them down to where they need to be. Or just reach up in there while the hood is down and bend the metal up for a good seal.

Truck looks great. Looks like you need extended lift hooks.

I have plenty of photos of the side rubber and the supports Jason so don't go out in the cold on account of this.

Re: Poject Humvee Milestone!
I know what those are. I don't want those, I actually would prefer for the top part of the holes in the lifting loops to be just below the hood line so the best would be for my loops to be lower, but I can live with them the way they are.

I think it is 79 outside right now.
The rubber is 4 1/2" high.
The metal supports are 2 1/2" high.
That should work just fine for the sides.

It's been done before with a Lamborghini. Check this out and at 2:25 in the video they made a hole in the concrete basement wall to get it out.

Re: Poject Humvee Milestone!
George,
I suspect that a possible likely reason the passenger side hood bracket is contacting the air filter is likely because it is an ECV type hood that without the rigid one piece grill incorporated into the hood causes it to be very flexible especially when lifting from the drivers side to disengage the prop rod the flexing causes the passenger side to droop as the drivers side flexes higher. I don't think this issue ever occurs on Non-ECV hoods as they are significantly more rigid since the grill incorporated into the hood adds significant rigidity (less flex).
