I am not currently having any problems, but am wanting to due the basic PM work on my new Humvee. I am working on the battery circuit(s) that would include using the 12v part of the dual voltage alternator and the addition of a circuit breaker. I can't seem to understand things until I can draw them out. I have added a hand drawn schematic of what I think I understand at this point and am asking for help on the connections that I cannot figure out. I do have the PM's, but so far, I have not been able to 'make the connection' between the different sections of the PM's.
Can someone tell me how to connect the loose wire ends to the terminals that I have shown on the drawing and suggest where to locate the circuit breaker. I have listed the terminals as letters and the loose wires as numbers.
Thanks!

Re: Help in learning basic electrical information
RHW, I ran a cable from the batteries to a control box mounted beneath the radio shelf that has a 35 amp breaker in it. The box looks just like one of the VIC-1 crewmember boxes but had a breaker in it instead of an radio control switch. From there it runs up to a terminal strip that everything else connects to.

Re: Help in learning basic electrical information
Thanks, Kurt. I have added my updated/home made wiring schematic after looking at my truck today. What I am trying to establish is where to pick up the 12v to run items at the radio shelving. I have shown the addition of the #8 gauge wire from the alternator to the battery terminal and the circuit breaker. Is it correct to pick up the 12v here at this battery terminal ? Is it not still 24v at this terminal? Can I not just pick up the 12v at the alternator end of that #8 gauge wire? I feel that I am over thinking this is some manner, but is sure isn't clear to me yet.

Wire from reg., and breaker should go to + terminal where you have letter B.

Re: Help in learning basic electrical information
Jeez! I know your right. Had I been paying more attention, I would have figured that out on my own. THANK YOU! It makes perfect sense.
I also think that I had the cables to the starter backwards
I did previously note that I am electronically challenged, right??
Funds on the way for grill pieces, etc. Thanks for your help on that as well.
