Differences in old body vs newer body

Post by jwaller » Sun Nov 12, 2017 12:51 pm

Just 1 I found today. I have a 2002 H1 here that has this extra piece but neither of my early Hmmwv's have this piece shown by my finger. This plate is under the bed tie down closest to the rear seat.

I also noticed the body mounts on the front of the new body have several doubler plates and extra rivets tieing them to the body.

1100 series tubs have that as well. Heavy things added require beefing up attachment points. Many other changes as well.

My humvee has those. The bolt for the tiedown loop in the bed goes through it. I guess this mean the bed loops can handle more weight than the early bodies?
