Looking for TM number to get information about a Helmet
I have recently acquired a used green Helmet 'roof' and I have not been able to locate any manual info about that component. I was told that it fastens to the windshield with some 'clips', but this has nothing attached to the front header area. Are they a separate piece of hardware?

Didn't the top you bought come with the windshield already mounted to the roof? Everything needed should already be attached. All you need to do is remove the soft top windshield frame and replace with the hardtop windshield frame. The only "clips" that I can think of are the strips with the nuts attached for the blind assembly where the roof, bushings and windshield mounting ears meet. Studs hold It all together at those mounting ears. All that should already be in place.

Why not just contact the manufacturer for that information"

Were you asking about the slant back top that you bought or an actual helmet top? I just assumed that you meant the slant.

Re: Looking for TM number to get information about a Helmet
I will be adding the slant back at some time in the near future, but due to my racing back ground I occasionally get asked to provide some vehicles for movies or commercials. I just wanted to mount this helmet and the doors I got with the slant back to take pictures for a possible commercial. A long time ago, I was involved in the Kenny Rogers movie 6-Pack and then a Burt Reynolds movie Stroker Ace. I provided all but two of those cars, the trucks and all the pit equipment and drove the 7 car, and have remained friends of some of those folks, but being on the east coast I don't get many calls any more. A little more than a week ago one of the cars painted in the 'throwback' style for the NASCAR race at Darlington was one that I owned and Dale Earnhardt drove. That exposure has kindled a fire or two. I did mean to get anyone confused, I was only looking for a little help. Sorry.

The Helmet tops use a strap clip like on the retaining clips on the Pioneer Tool Kit. At one time they offered an installation kit. I'll look for the part number.

Thanks, Mark, I have made friends with some of the guys at our local National Guard motor pool, and that is what they were telling me, but the Helmet that I acquired did not have them attached. Thanks again, I would like to know what that number is and maybe where I might look to find them.

At the back end of the helmet tops, they did not just bolt them in place. They used longer bolts with coil springs on them to allow for body flex.

Re: Looking for TM number to get information about a Helmet
Thank you Jason and George. I did find the Amtechcorp website and located their hardware section for the Helmet top. In none of the photos am I able to see any springs. It looks like there is a pair of brackets that looks like they might line up with the 3-hole bolt pattern found at the rear of the helmet. Do you think that the springs might be located there between the brackets and the rear body panel? I did locate the front windshield clips as described by my national Guard friend. Thanks again, guys!

Installation procedures may have changed since the time I saw what I saw.

Here are pictures of mounting of a helmet top. There is also a bracket behind rear doors that is not pictured.
