Ya, X doors in the photo of the Vehicle, but the others should be what they will make or maybe the first ones they have assembled. Doors are a difficult item to make well. These show more promise than flat plate aluminum doors as far as I am concerned, unless lots of welded parts are added to them, especially around the circumference. Maybe someone could cast some X Doors out of aluminum.86humv wrote:There doors in upper pic, and real X doors on truck in lower pic ?dilvoy wrote:LIKE MAYBE THESE!

Thats not a good reference on what they will look like if thats what they are trying to do.

So, Does anyone know who made the originals? I'm sure AMG farmed it out.

I'd be afraid to find out what their best price would be and how many would be needed to get that price!Lionel wrote:So, Does anyone know who made the originals? I'm sure AMG farmed it out.

Re: M1045A2 questions
Looks like they still have about twenty 1123's left in Georgia. At the $10,000 starting bid, I'm guessing the GP plan is to liquidate all of them before they start pushing out the 1043 & 1045A2's

Re: M1045A2 questions
DId anybody else notice that the new listings for the 1043/45/46 slantbacks now state that the turret assemblies are now subject to further demil? What all would that entail? Complete removal of the weapons tray (bearing, hatch, etc.) but leave the turret support since it somewhat reinforces the roof? I would hate to buy one and then show up to see it all hacked apart. I am curious if the DOD will recall the recently sold slantbacks for further demil since they were sold before the updated demil requirement?
I am leaning heavily towards punting my salty M966 and buying one of these shinny "new" 1046/3/5/6s, but the completeness of the previously sold slantbacks was the main draw. hmmmm.

Re: M1045A2 questions
My sources are telling me the demil includes the entire roof, support, bearing, tray, slant back and all. What a shame.

Re: M1045A2 questions
Any demil unless it is by removal is likely to be very messy, but don't complain too much, because the M1045 is part of a Missile System so just be happy we are being allowed to buy it even if it has some demilled parts.
It still is a 12k truck with all the nice things that go along with that, which includes the four speed trans.

Re: M1045A2 questions
Based on what I'm being told, they are going to end up looking like the 1123's when finished. So, as you say, a good basic platform upon which to build. I guess the price of slant parts will stay high after all.

Re: M1045A2 questions
You guys are right, getting stripped trucks is better than nothing, but it really would be great to get a complete truck. Those first 4 or 5 104Xs sold were absolutely gorgeous (am I allowed to say that about an MV?). I was outbid on my M1123 of choice yesterday, so I guess I will get back to hunting down parts for the M966 and see what the future holds for this new crop of (soon to be former) slantbacks.

Re: M1045A2 questions
well fellas, I think we finally know what condition the rest of the 1045s will come in They just hacked out the cross bar in the c pillar. It will be interesting to see where the prices settle out on these. What is the total count supposed to be? 700 in CA and 400 in GA?
