Re: M1045A2 questions
Yes, the 6.5/4L80 drivetrain is a good starting point, but more than a few parts are needed to make those stripped slantbacks whole again. What is confusing is that these totally gutted 1025/1045s were seen at Yermo as well, so I am a bit confused as to just how far the demil rabbit hole goes on this batch of HMMWVs.

That's just wrong. Absolute waste of good vehicles and parts. I'm going to go and be sick for a bit.

Re: M1045A2 questions
The tailgates have the super thin supplemental armor, which of course could have been separated from the tailgate in 5 mins. Such a shame.Lionel wrote:They even yanked the tailgates???

Re: M1045A2 questions
Yup, the armor on the tail gates was the reason for their removal. They cut them off at the hinges. Thank goodness that Gov Planet is allowed to go to the trouble to remove all that stuff, otherwise the vehicles would have been scrapped as was the case not so long ago. Pretty clean demil if you ask me!desmodromic wrote:The tailgates have the super thin supplemental armor, which of course could have been separated from the tailgate in 5 mins.
