M1045A2 questions

Post by SinDiesel » Wed Mar 22, 2017 3:32 am

What is the skinny on all those recapped M1045A2's listed on GovPlanet for next week?

I noticed they are A2's but don't have the A2 airlift rear bumper? I thought all A2's even USMC vehicles went to air lift bumpers except the M1123. Do the USMC M1045A2's have air lift rear bumpers or was that a variation done during the recap?

Of the ones that I looked at, I saw 30psi oil pressure and what appeared to be Melton rebuilt engines?

I wonder if more A2's are going to start trickling out? Anybody know?

No mention of SF97, title or ORUO. I bet they pull these out before they hit the block. Seems like too much equipment still in/on them.

Gov Planet may have already bought these directly from the USMC. They won't be pulled if that is the case and the USMC may have removed all items needed to complete the sale and Gov Planet may have bought various items from other sources and installed them after they had possession of the vehicles so again, they will be able to be sold in the condition that they are shown in.

If you buy the tan one, make sure to flip the driver floor vent around. It looks like it is aimed up. It is bolted in that way.
A2 heaters, Koch seatbelts, TOW accessories, 4 speed trans....what isn't there to love?

The Tan one also has the preferred GEP 6.5 engine whereas all the woodlands have meleton rebuilds.

Why do these A2's not have the A2 air lift rear bumper. I thought the only A2 variant that didn't have the air lift rear bumper was the M1123's for the marines.

And here I was thinking they were never going to sell slantbacks and finally broke down and bought a rough M966 a few weeks ago. I have all the parts to update it to M1045A2 standards, but it sure would have been easier to buy a complete unit.

Smh. Oh well.

Ha Ha! Pretty much the same thing has been happening to me since 1999. Buy a Humvee and add an upgrade only for another upgrade to that same item to come out, over and over again and again. LOL

This happened to my M1152 build. Only one when I started, then they sold a dozen of them. Grrr! So my 1165 build will bring you all REV trucks for sale in the near future! lol

"Why would you get bashed for discussing slantbacks? "

Admin flagged it as a violation for talking about an auction before it was completed. Even assessed me an infraction. I argued it was important news for the HMMWV community, no prices were discussed, etc., but no joy.

This is the start of 1400 released for sale by the MC out of Yermo. Watch for the ones coming out also in Albany. So don't go paying to much for them  By the looks of the registered watchers this should be a good one

More than 400 MAK armored sitting in the yard in Ga. now. The 5 at Yermo look to me like they've been "dolled" up after armor removal with big screws and washers where the holes in the body were, and the addition of supplemental doors and fresh paint.

... and that's why I supporting that site. Even when it was posted everywhere about GP going to start selling HMMWV's, they were locking threads that even mentioned it. Kind of like Baghdad Bob telling everybody "there are no HMMWV sales".

So none of us have a clue why these M1045A2's don't have a rear air lift bumper? They are obviously USMC but per TM's the only A2 not to have a rear bumper is the M1123. This is perplexing my knowledge of HMMWV history, configurations, & variants? Any one want to share their thoughts? I personally thought it might be a USMC request during recap to achieve the original departure angles of the A0 & A1 series for enhanced mobility.
