Now we can tow a trailer and have the rhino lift mounted:

Alex, What are you going to do about the Trailer light socket that is in the bumper? It needs to be moved to install the hitch extension. Are you going to make an extension jumper for the light socket so you can have trailer lights or are you going to do something else?

i would also like to know what do you do with the trailer receptacle when you install the bumper extension? I suppose you have to move it to another location.

I have the rhino tire mount installed. Before I bought the pintle extension bracket from Greg (with the trailer recepticle cut out) I had no problems hooking up the 1102 trailer. There are 2 models of bumper extensions, one has the hole for relocating the trailer receptacle the other does not. I modified the latching bracket just like Alex did. The trailer receptacle is easily extended to the new location by removing and relocating the existing wiring harness and clips. I also enlarged the hole in the wrench handle to fit a combination lock to prevent it from being lost. IPosting pictures is difficult for me here but they are on steel soldiers.

Alex, with a hole saw drill bit and template, I am sure the trailer receptacle can be relocated on your truck.

My extender does not have the hole for the wiring receptacle. Did not know there were 2 types. There is a hole saw that will cut through that thick steel?

there are 2 holes on my pintle extension one on the outside and one on the inside, measure the existing holes on the airlift bumper as a guide. Holesaws come in all different diameters available at home depot ect..
use a 1/2" capacity slow speed drill with care. A 90 degree wilwalkee drill works best but the holes can be drilled with a pistol drill with the auxilliary handle for extra support. Use cutting oil and go slowly. You will need to drill the mounting holes and use the filler plate from the other bumper as well.

Hello,
With rhino + spare wheel, is it mandatory to have the pintle extension to pull a M1101 trailer ?
Thanks

No it’s not mandatory at least on hard tack. I raise the spare slightly while still keeping it in the bracket. Works just fine

I drove mine over 1000 miles with m1102 perfectly fine. But, there are 2 brackets available that the carrier rests on. One is about 1/2" higher, IIRC. I have the taller one installed. I may have got it from 86HUMV.
