The pre formed hose that leads to the CDR Valve attaches there.
What is that shiny curved pipe that the hose it clamped to used for?

George,
Are you trying to tell me that I am the only one chroming my Humvee engine?
:D

It is attached to the water pump...probably headed to the heater core. It is the newer stainless steel line.

Oh I see what it is now. It is the tube that is used with the late type A/C compressor.

Correct.
I removed the large A/C bracket for painting before the pic was taken.

And, what if I do? Maybe I will finish it and put it on epay for $100,000!

No, the body will remain 2-door, no armor.

I guess they went away from having an angled fitting where that hose attaches to the waterpump because they have one of those max flow waterpumps. I discovered as I'm shure Dunsbr will soon, that the angled fitting that the hose nipple fits to, can't be fully threaded in, because it contacts part of the water pump body and some grinding will be necessary. That angled fitting allows for the heater hose to be veritcal in orientiation and easily clear the A/C pump with no kinking of that hose. Although the armor protection that those heater tubes give may be necessary for the military, for me, the ability to flex the hoses out of the way during repairs is worth having more hose to periodically inspect, so I won't be installing the tubes. Besides, I'll be able to save the money on the four less hose clamps that I won't need. :D
